Do you ever wish you could see or talk to someone at your door without opening it? What if I told you that you don’t even have to be in the same city or country to see and talk with the person at your front door?
This is where Smart Video Doorbells come in. A smart video doorbell replaces your traditional doorbell. They connect to the internet via your home wireless internet.
They provide:
Security monitoring – continuous motion detection and the ability to watch live video from your smart doorbell wherever you are, make this a key security feature.
Smartphone control – Smart Video Doorbells come with available apps on both iOS and Android. You can get motion alerts, have conversations, and watch live video from your doorbell on your smartphone.
Available Cloud Video Storage – Most smart doorbells will record video when they detect motion or the doorbell button is pressed. Videos are saved to the cloud (the doorbell company’s servers) and you can watch the videos up to 30 days after they are recorded. By default many smart doorbells come with complimentary 24 hr cloud storage to save the videos for one day. If you see a video you think is important, or you just want to save the video, you can download the video to your smartphone any time in this 24 hr period. You can then choose to upgrade the 24 hrs of cloud storage to up to 30 days of cloud storage for saved videos. Many doorbell cameras offer this feature for a low monthly fee.
Automatic motion detection – This means the person on your door doesn’t need to press the doorbell button. If someone is looking in your door or snooping, the doorbell camera will tell you it detects motion at your front door and it will send a notification to your smart phone or your smart watch.
All year use with no charging or power cord – Since a smart doorbell draws power from your home’s electrical panel, it does not rely on battery power. This means no charging cables, and you don’t have to worry about the battery not functioning in our chilly winters. Your doorbell camera will work year round.
Any traditional doorbell can be changed to a smart video doorbell. Think that only the front door can have a smart video doorbell? Actually, any outside door to your house that has a traditional push button doorbell can be replaced with a smart video doorbell.
Professional Installation – Do you feel comfortable verifying the voltage on the secondary side of your doorbell transformer? Do you know if your existing doorbell chime is compatible with the smart video doorbell you chose? Did you know smart doorbells require more power from your electrical panel than a traditional push button doorbell? If you’re not sure if your current doorbell transformer is compatible with a smart doorbell or you’re not completely comfortable with the wiring and installation of your new smart doorbell, call Barron Electric. I’m a Red Seal Journeyman Electrician and I’d be happy to completely set up your new smart doorbell for you. I even offer same day service for no extra cost! Not sure where to start?
